Frequently Asked Questions |
Is it legal? Yes. In most states in Australia the vehicle is considered a bicycle if it has pedals and a motor of not more than 200 watts. Of course we advise you to check with your local legislation. See our 'What you need to know' page for more information. Our bikes have been legally imported and are covered by an import permit from the Department of Transport (D.O.T.A.R.S). Is it cheating? No. Riding an electric bike is like riding a conventional bike on a level surface all the time. You can pedal the bike as normal, in fact you have to apply some pressure to get up a hill but the motor gives you a little push to make it that much easier. |

How long does the battery charge last? A fully charged bike will travel 40 to 50km on one charge. Of course this varies with the terrain, the amount of pedal assistance used and the load that is pulled. What maintenance is required? The bike needs normal bicycle maintenance. The motor and battery are sealed units that require no owner maintenance. Where are the bikes made? Like most of the bikes available today, our bikes are imported from China. Not surprising considering that China is the world's largest consumer of bicycles and where electric bikes have become a mainstream mode of transportation. What colours are available? Two styles are available - Black/Silver (pictured) or Red/Silver. |
